HOW DO I PACKAGE AND SEND MY KEEPSAKE MATERIALS?

Once your order has been placed, you will receive email instructions on how and where to post your keepsake materials.

Contactless local drop off/collection is also available for orders within ACT.

Breastmilk

Your breastmilk can be any age, it does not matter if it is expired. Your breastmilk works best if it is sent at room temperature so that it does not condensate and compromise the packaging in the mail.

1. Place your breastmilk inside into two storage breastmilk bags (double bag to prevent leakage) with your Name and Order number.

2. Send your breastmilk inside a padded envelope.

Please note zip lock bags, vials, cups or containers will not be accepted for breastmilk.

All other keepsake materials

1. Please package in a zip lock bag with your Name and Order number and post in a padded envelope.

It is recommended that you photograph the materials you are sending and keep for personal reference along with your tracking number if you have one.

IMPORTANT: Please do not send the last of your keepsake material. Do not send what you can not replace. Luna and Me Jewellery will not be held responsible for any materials that may get lost in the mail.

HOW MUCH OF MY KEEPSAKE MATERIAL DO I NEED TO SEND?

Breastmilk - Please send anything between 10-20ml of your breastmilk for crafting. Please do not send more than 30ml as this increases the chance of the bag bursting. Please ensure the milk is thawed prior to sending.

Your preserved breastmilk will be kept for safe keeping and future in-house orders for a maximum of 12 months. Any left over unpreserved breastmilk will be discarded. Please let me know if you wish for this to be sent back to you.

Hair / Pet fur -  As little as 1 strand to a snippet is all that is required. Please tie the hair at the top with a thin ribbon or string if you can. The look of your crafted piece will be determined on the amount of hair available.

Flowers - Petals or whole small flowers placed in a paper bag/ziplock bag (please discuss with us to ensure it is dried prior to posting. We are also able to professionally dry flowers if required).

Loved ones ashes - 1/2 teaspoon of ashes is enough to craft your beautiful jewellery. Any unused ashes will be returned to you with your finished keepsake jewellery.

Soil/Sand - 1 teaspoon is enough to craft your keepsake jewellery.

Dried Placenta - 1 pill or 1/4 teaspoon of dried placenta in a zip lock bag will be more than enough to craft with. Please only send dried placenta, raw placenta is not accepted.

Dried umbilical cord - 1 snippet of the umbilical cord stump is enough to craft with, this can be clipped off with scissors into a zip lock bag.

Fabric - a snippet big enough to craft with and placed in a ziplock bag.

IMPORTANT: Luna and Me Jewellery will endeavor to send back all remaining unused keepsakes with your order, except for breastmilk. Please do not send all that you have of any type of keepsake material being used, only send what is required.

PLEASE NOTE: It is strongly advised that you choose tracking with your postage to ensure your special keepsake materials are safe. Luna and Me Jewellery will not be held responsible for any lost packages.

HOW DO I SELECT FLECKS AND SHIMMERS?

There is a drop down box that will ask you what shimmers and flecks you would like when selecting your desired piece.

Check out examples of shimmers and flecks in the Colour Chart tab on our website. If you don't see what you are after, please get in touch.

Each piece is handcrafted individually for you and we love each pieces' imperfections. It is what makes it unique and one of a kind. Keepsake materials, shimmers and flecks have their own way of settling into place in your stone.

Please note: It is not possible to replicate an exact version of something you may see on the website as colours and materials will always vary from the photograph.

WILL MY KEEPSAKE JEWELLERY CHANGE COLOUR OVER TIME?

Breastmilk jewellery can go through a small change within the first three months, this is where the breastmilk stone slightly shifts to a less white colour. This is normal and happens to most breastmilk stones as it settles into its colour.

Your breastmilk and other keepsake materials have been preserved using a safe, reliable and professional method and does NOT yellow or change colour over time. Your breastmilk jewellery will retain its colour for as long as you have the piece.

It is still strongly recommended to follow the jewellery care instructions to avoid your jewellery darkening. If this happens later on, a top coat refresh service is available by request.

HOW DO I CARE FOR MY JEWELLERY?

All handmade pieces are crafted using professional preservation methods. With the correct care it should last you a lifetime.

It is not recommended to wear your jewellery while showering, swimming, washing hands, cleaning with harsh chemicals, using a home hair dye, tanning and solariums. Please avoid contact with all soaps, shampoos, perfumes, essential oils, lotion, excessive heat and UV rays.

All sterling silver tarnishes over time and can easily be cleaned with a silver polishing cloth. Your natural body oils/skin cells etc can build up and affect how your jewellery wears over time, so it is recommend that you gently clean it every few months.

To look after your jewellery, run under water from time to time and use a soft, clean dry cloth to polish your keepsake regularly. Treat them like precious diamonds!

If you require to send your piece back for mending, a top coat refresh service is available by request.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO MAKE MY ORDER?

The turn around time for your keepsake jewellery to be completed is currently 6-10 weeks from the time we receive your keepsake materials until it is completed and ready to be sent. This does not include postage times.

In all cases, Luna and Me Jewellery reserves the right to extend production periods due to unforeseen circumstances or to make sure you receive a high quality piece. You will be contacted if there are any delays with your order.

WHY DOES IT TAKE SO LONG?

Purchasing handmade jewellery means that you will have a unique item. Each piece you buy is individually crafted and no two items will ever be the same.

All keepsake materials are treated with respect, love and care which is why it takes time to make your precious jewellery.

Breastmilk jewellery involves a professional preservation methods which begins as soon as your milk arrives to us. This preservation process may take up to 7 days to complete alone.

Each piece is handmade so please love their imperfections as this makes them special and unique. There are many steps to crafting keepsake jewellery and the process takes time and dedication to ensure the highest quality is achieved.

Thank you for choosing handmade.

CAN MY RING BE RESIZED?

It is strongly recommended that you visit your local jeweller and have a free ring sizing done before placing an order.

If your ring needs to be resized due to a sizing error, please contact lunaandme.jewellery@gmail.com to discuss your options.

Please note: Resizing is not available for all pieces, i.e. when a ring has already been set with the keepsake stone, resizing will compromise the structure of the ring and it may be more cost effective to explore other options.

WHAT IS YOUR RETURN POLICY?

At this stage Luna and Me Jewellery do not offer exchanges or returns for change of mind, so please be sure of your design choice before ordering. This also includes shimmers and flecks.
